This weekend marks our first away game of the year. Last year, an easy away opener awaited Auburn in the form of Mississippi State and their cowbells, which did little to stop Auburn from rolling over them. This year is a little different. Saturday will see Auburn travel to the Swamp and the University of Florida-Gainesville (UFAG), land of the jean shorts. I personally was never a big fan of jorts, especially when worn like this. Quite honestly, they scare me. Sort of like the tandem of Tim Tebow and Percy Harvin. And then I saw Tebow in jean shorts as well, which really freaked me out. I originally thought that maybe the whole jean short thing was just a rumor, a stupid joke about Florida fans. But as with a lot of stereotypes about opposing teams fans, it was true. LSU fans do smell like corn dogs. Alabama fans have mullets. Mississippi State fans love their cowbells. Ole Miss, um, doesn’t have fans. But I digress.

My goals for this weekend:

1. To win. Duh. Nothing would excite me more than the Swamp, with all of its fans wearing the wrong shade of orange and blue, silent after a stunning Auburn win.
2. Take a picture of someone with jean shorts. In fact, take a picture with someone wearing jean shorts. In my band uniform.

The level of excitement for this trip is pretty high, a least for me. Beginning at 8:30 am on Friday, Bus #8 will be rocking all the way down to Ocala, Florida, on Friday, as we all enjoy RAT “activities” on the bus with our favorite GTA, Michael Sinnot. I personally am looking forward to watching Martin’s video that he has been working on, the one that no one really knows what it’s about. It’ll be hard to top the gallon challenge video from last year’s Iron Bowl, but anything is possible. Even a win on Saturday night against #3 Florida at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium on ESPN at 8 pm EST.
