Stuart Ivey, aka Maverick, aka Fearless Leader, aka one of our section leaders, wants the world to know a little something something about a little something something.

“Another listening opportunity is coming up next Tuesday (Oct. 30). The Auburn Low Brass Club will be hosting “Octubafest,” a recital of low brass solos and ensembles. Come support your low brass studio! There will be a reception following (aka free food) and feel free to wear a Halloween costume!!!”

Yes, this will mean you’ll have to put up with Tubas and Euphoniums as well as our favorite slided instrument. Buuuut, having participated in the event last year myself, I’ll have to recommend it nonetheless. Also, there’s free food? Wait. Did we get free food last year? If so, nobody told me! And I even performed in the thing!

Guess I’ll have to show up this year, then. :)  Octubafest is a Big Deal, featuring recitals and concerts at many major universities across the nation.  You should check it out.
